40 Years of Streets Heaver: Built on a Simple Principle – Give Time Back to Healthcare

On 13 March 2026, Streets Heaver proudly celebrated 40 years in business, a significant milestone that marks four decades of innovation, growth, and commitment to healthcare technology.

Where It Started: A Belief in Better Ways of Working
Our journey began in the early 1980s with a simple but forward-looking belief:
‘Technology would fundamentally change how organisations operate.’
At a time when technology was only just beginning to transform organisations, this belief laid the foundations for what would become Streets Heaver. That vision became reality in 1986, when Streets Heaver was officially established.
In that same period, the business opened its first dedicated office in Lincoln, secured its first major hospital client, Bromhead Hospital, and developed the earliest version of what would later evolve into Compucare. These formative steps set the direction for a company focused on delivering reliable, purpose-built technology to healthcare providers.
Even then, the focus wasn’t just digitisation.
It was about reducing friction in healthcare workflows – long before that became industry language.
The Real Problem: Growth Shouldn’t Mean More Admin
As healthcare evolved through the 1990’s, one challenge became increasingly clear:
‘Growth was often accompanied by more complexity, not more efficiency.’
More patients meant more paperwork; more services meant more disconnected systems and more data meant slower decision-making. Organisations were still constrained by manual processes and delayed visibility.
That’s where our focus sharpened.
Through the 1990s, Streets Heaver continued to grow its presence within healthcare, building longstanding relationships with organisations such as King Edward VII Hospital, which remains one of the company’s longest standing clients.
As healthcare technology advanced, so did Compucare. Successive generations of the system were developed to meet the changing needs of hospitals and clinics, while the business expanded further into the NHS clinical market, strengthening its position across both private and public healthcare. This period also saw major partnerships form with organisations such as Cromwell Hospital, reinforcing Streets Heaver’s growing reputation within the sector.
Over time, Streets Heaver evolved into a business supporting healthcare organisations across the UK and beyond, combining long-term partnerships with continual system development and innovation. Because the goal isn’t to add more tools. It’s to create an sustainable operating system that works at the speed of care delivery.

Building a Purpose Driven Business
Growth continued into the 2010s, with the business expanding its team and capabilities. Today, Streets Heaver is home to over 100 employees, bringing together a diverse range of expertise united by a shared commitment to improving healthcare through technology.
In 2023, Streets Heaver achieved B Corp Certification, recognising the company’s commitment to operating as a responsible, purpose driven business. This milestone highlighted not only the quality of the technology delivered through Compucare, but also the importance placed on people, community, and positive impact.
A Purpose That Evolved With Us
After nearly 40 years of growth, innovation, and learning, one thing became clear:
What started as a belief in technology had become something more defined.
In 2025, our Managing Director Benedict Heaver articulated that mindset into a mission that reflects both where we’ve come from – and where we’re going:
“To be curious enough to dream the impossible.
To be brave enough to make it a reality.”
This isn’t a new direction.
It’s a reflection of how Streets Heaver has always operated – continuously questioning, continuously improving, and continually pushing what’s possible in healthcare technology.
Each milestone along the way reflects the dedication, creativity, and collaboration of the people behind Streets Heaver, past and present, who have helped shape the company into what it is today.
Celebrating the People Behind the Progress
Reaching 40 years is about far more than longevity. It is about the relationships built along the way, the partnerships formed, and the shared commitment to improving healthcare through technology. From humble beginnings to an award-winning, purpose driven healthcare technology partner, our journey has been defined by innovation, resilience, and values that remain as relevant today as they were at the very start.
To mark this milestone, we came together to celebrate with a 40th anniversary party at The White Hart in Lincoln. The evening provided an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far, reconnect with colleagues, and celebrate everything that has been achieved together.
The celebration included a speech from company founder Paul Heaver, who shared reflections on the early days of the business and the vision that set Streets Heaver in motion. This was followed by a toast from our Managing Director, Benedict Heaver, celebrating the company’s achievements, its people, and the future still to come. Stating:
“For us, celebrating 40 years isn’t simply about longevity – it’s about the impact we’ve had on our people, our clients, and our community…Our heritage as a Lincolnshire family business ground everything we do. NIVA AI represents the next chapter in our journey: innovative, responsible, and driven by the same values we’ve held since 1986.”
“With our exceptional team, strong values, and commitment to people and community, we’re excited for what the next 40 years will bring.”
Following this, the guests enjoyed a fantastic buffet and drinks throughout the evening, before the unveiling of a special personalised 40th anniversary cake, creating a fitting moment to raise a glass together.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this landmark moment, we also look firmly to the future, continuing to invest in our people, our technology, and the healthcare organisations we support. While the industry continues to evolve, our focus remains the same, delivering meaningful technology, building lasting partnerships, and staying true to the values that have guided us for 40 years.
Because the future of healthcare isn’t about more systems. It’s about systems that give time back.
Here’s to 40 years of Streets Heaver and to what comes next.
