Meet the Team – Say Hi to Alex

By Hannah Fairclough, Customer Accounts Assistant

We believe a company is only as good as its people, and we know how to spot a good egg.

The talented professionals behind the delivery of Compucare are a group of dedicated, motivated and skilled experts who inspire Streets Heaver to be better every day. And we’re incredibly proud of them.

So, without further ado, meet Alex, Streets Heavers’ Project Analyst…

What was your first job and how did you get into your current field of work?

My first ever “job” was a paper round when I was 14, I used to cycle around the village I grew up in and take everyone the Sunday newspaper ????
I got into tech because of my Dad, He wanted me to go into something that would be future proof. I wanted to be a medical examiner or a zoologist.

What do you enjoy about working at Streets Heaver?

I love how much learning and teach goes on between colleagues, I’ve never worked somewhere that values knowledge so highly. Not just knowledge of our own systems and products but knowledge of each other and how to grow as an organisation.

What never fails to make you sad or disappointed?

A closed mind, when someone simply doesn’t want to think outside of the box or try something new. You don’t know until you try! Open your mind and your horizons and everything will seem so much better.

What was the last book you read? Did you enjoy it?

Elevation by Stephen King, I love everything written by Stephen King. My entire library is made up of his books. I have a few by other authors but when you have a favourite that’s all people buy you ???? I am not complaining though!

Which four famous people (living or dead) would you invite to your next dinner party?

P!nk, Stephen King, Ross Noble & Ina Garten

Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?

Tea – Peppermint

What is your favourite joke or one you have heard most recently?

Man walks into a bar with a Giraffe, the giraffe gets drunk and passes out. When the man gets up to leave the barman say’s “you can’t leave that lyin’ there”, The man replied “it’s not a Lion, it’s a Giraffe”

What has been one of the greatest moments in your life so far?

One of my greatest moments was a valentine’s day trip my partner booked for us to go and have a VIP tour of Longleat Safari Park. It included an hour in the penguin enclosure feeding all the gorgeous little Humboldt’s. I cried for the entire hour, as penguins are my favourite animal. Luckily, my other half found this cute and not terribly off-putting!

Finally, if you could be any superhero, who would it be and why?

Scarlet Witch, Easily the most understated Marvel hero. She has a hard past and natural power that would cause most characters to turn into villains, instead she uses what she possesses to help others. Plus, she can fly…
