Meet the Team – Say Hi to Somer

By Hannah Fairclough, Customer Accounts Assistant

We believe a company is only as good as its people, and we know how to spot a good egg.

The talented professionals behind the delivery of Compucare are a group of dedicated, motivated and skilled experts who inspire Streets Heaver to be better every day. And we’re incredibly proud of them.

So, without further ado, meet Somer, Streets Heavers’ Junior Software Developer…

What was your first job and how did you get into your current field of work?

My first job was as a cleaner before and during university. I then got a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and went on to do an MA in Design focusing on creating and programming smart clothing to help those with medical issues. Given that it was a natural step to work for a company creating hospital-based software!

What do you enjoy about working at Streets Heaver?

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. And the company is always progressing and adapting to make everyone’s working lives better.

What never fails to make you sad or disappointed?

Finishing a game/film/TV/book series with a good plot. I get so invested in the characters so I want to know what happens after, especially if they’re left with unanswered questions, I get so disappointed!

What was the last book you read? Did you enjoy it?

Honestly, I’ve just gone through my Ace Attorney manga books again. It sort of counts as reading?! I love mysteries so I always enjoy a good murder mystery book, whether it is mainly images or not.

Which four famous people (living or dead) would you invite to your next dinner party?

Jake Shears, Stephen Fry, Neil Patrick HarrisNoel Fielding… with Tim Curry as the butler (that’s technically allowed right?)

Tea or Coffee? And how do you take it?

Tea! Loose leaf, green and preferably fruity.

What is your favourite joke or one you have heard most recently?

People who can’t distinguish between etymology and entomology bug me in ways I cannot put into words.

What has been one of the greatest moments in your life so far?

Technically two, but getting to see two of my favourite singers live last year. I didn’t think I would ever get to see either for different reasons. By chance, I was able to do two other amazing things I thought I would never get to do on those two days too, so I had two amazing trips full of new experiences!

Finally, if you could be any superhero, who would it be and why?

Batman – lots of money, lots of tech. Basically if it can be made, he gets the ability! I would have all kinds of weird tech if I was Batman!
