KIMS Implement Compucare at their new 101 bed state of the art hospital in Kent
Streets Heaver to Provide Compucare to the Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery (KIMS)
Compucare has gone live at the Kent Institute of Medicine & Surgery (KIMS). After more than five years in the planning KIMS opened its doors in April 2014 offering 74 dedicated inpatient beds, including seven chemotherapy rooms, plus a further 20 day care beds, seven intensive therapy units beds and high dependency beds. KIMS is part owned and operated by selected consultants and surgeons which are supported by the management team.
The hospital is a modern, purpose built facility which was founded by Dr Phyllis Holt, a highly regarded cardiologist; and her husband Franz Dickmann who has experience within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. They were also joined by their son, James Dickmann and a solicitor, Steven Bernstein.
They realised that the current healthcare market in Kent was not positioned to care for the ever increasing population; and so the KIMS concept was born. Their mission is ‘to provide the best care to every patient in the communities in which they serve, through clinician-led innovative clinical practice, education and research.’
KIMS chose Streets Heaver’s Compucare system to manage the new hospitals handling of patient referrals, scheduling of bookings, billing and invoicing and insurer contracts. In addition to this the implementation of Compucare’s Choose and Book module enables them to provide a directly bookable service with patients being able to book their appointment with KIMS via their GP.
