Streets Heaver Supporting MIND

Last month may have seen us through Lockdown 2.0, but the team at Streets Heaver showed no slowing in efforts to boost morale.

Supporting each other from afar, staff got stuck in with all kinds of activities and raised vital funds for our charity of the year, MIND. Importantly, the Streets Heaver Mental Health First Aid team also chose to share support and resources through our own Stress Awareness Month.

Streets Heaver Stress Awareness Month

Kicking things off with ‘National Stress Awareness Day’ on the 4th November, the MHFA team announced plans to extend the conversation on stress all month long. With so much difficulty and worry in people’s lives this year, it was a poignant message of support.

Every day, the team shared links to helpful websites, TED talks, pictures and advice on how to hopefully reduce stress, both in the workplace and at home. Supporting our chosen charity, MIND, the team also hosted a number of fundraising events including a hugely successful internal raffle! Our wonderful team sold 224 tickets, raising £189.50 towards our total.

Raising Vital Funds for Better Mental Health

Elsewhere in the business, more charity work for MIND continued from the safety of our front rooms. The footy fans amongst us dressed to impress for Football Shirt Friday, proudly supporting their teams and donating towards the cause.

But the fundraising didn’t stop there. The month of November also saw us host our own 50 Mile Challenge in support of our chosen charity. With the recent introduction of the Streets Heaver Ramblers Club and Run Club, several employees took on the challenge of getting active.

The Great Outdoors: Natural Stress Relief

This mammoth fundraising challenge which saw so many get involved, helped staff get some much needed fresh air. Research shows that exposing your lungs to fresh air can help to relieve stress and anxiety. Which tied nicely into the efforts of our Stress Awareness Month.

Congratulations to all that have taken part last month. We saw some really impressive activities and personal goals smashed along the way. Plus, our fundraising total for the year has now reached an outstanding £1678 for MIND.
